Do you want to help in deepening the tactical and strategic relationship between two of the most relevant enterprise software players, Microsoft and SAP? Do you have a passion for marketing technology and have strong business and partner management skills? Do you want to be in the center of the action, working with some of the best minds at Microsoft and competing with the strongest competitors in the IT world?

SQL Server is the fastest growing database in the industry and one of the largest businesses at Microsoft. It’s at the center of the IT universe, and at the center of Microsoft’s strategy to win in the enterprise. As a key member of the EAP Partner Marketing team, you’ll have an opportunity to make a difference driving partnering opportunities, customer programs and innovation opportunities with and around SAP’s application business.

We need a strong marketer for a key role in creating, implementing and managing partner and customer-facing programs for the SAP application market. Areas of focus and responsibility will include defining joint business model and opportunities, codifying the business relationship in the form of contractual agreements (esp. licensing program), developing offers to sell in the field and supporting collateral/guidance. Also you will be responsible for the web and intranet presence, Microsoft and SAP field readiness, and customer evidence. Since the SAP application market is a significant share of the enterprise customer market, you will be leading the development of Microsoft’s sales and marketing strategy and execution in the enterprise market through EAP.
Overall, you will be responsible for defining our strategies and plans to drive deep engagement with SAP and the SAP partner ecosystem to advance Microsoft’s position in the area of mission-critical enterprise computing.

Responsibilities specific to the EAP’s SAP business include:
• Develop and implement EAP’s strategy of approaching the market with SAP
• Be the EAP/STB representative in the corporate wide SAP governance body (i.e. participate and drive agenda items in the SQL Server Marketing internal quarterly executive business reviews and joint Microsoft and SAP quarterly executive business reviews)
• Develop Field, Customer and Partner facing collateral, training, and overall readiness
• Develop SQL Server marketing fiscal year metrics and plans for the SAP application business
• Work with internal Microsoft groups to create programs and initiatives with systems integrators focused on SAP applications and SQL Server - especially DPE, EPG, Services and EAP Engineering
• Manage customer evidence creation for SAP on SQL Server
• Work with internal Microsoft groups, like Microsoft Services, to develop customer offers
• Manage EAP Marketing’s SAP budget
• Serve as the Microsoft internal point of contact for ensuring support for closing field generated, strategic business opportunities involving SQL Server and SAP application
• Developing joint Go To Market solutions with multi-national server partners

You will also work closely with marketing leads in the field, other BGs and segment teams and the enterprise sales group to drive broad reach sales and marketing programs (including developing competencies, certifications, events, seminars, workshops, Web portals, communities, deal incentives and supporting collateral) to drive adoption of SQL Server in the high end enterprise for SAP applications. You will also work directly with SAP on alliance initiatives, sales programs, field education and events.

Candidates must have 8+ years experience in product management or marketing. This person should be a strong cross-group collaborator and leader with demonstrated success in marketing execution, a proven track record of successfully starting, building and finishing large projects, and exceptionally strong strategic, financial and quantitative skills. Ideal candidates have a technical background and understanding as well as an excellent grasp of the different business models of our partners (ISVs, Solution Providers, and Systems Integrators) and have experience working with SAP. Top Microsoft success factors include Communication Skills, Conviction and Courage, Problem Solving, and Driving for Results. Undergraduate degree in computer science or a related technical discipline required and MBA strongly preferred. Due to the nature of the work, this position is based in Redmond.
