The Windows Consumer Business Planning team is part of the Windows Consumer Product Management organization. We focus on driving the business strategy and evolving the business model for Windows in the consumer segment. This business has great momentum with Windows 7 driving unprecedented sales while operating in a dynamic and highly competitive market which creates many exciting opportunities. We are seeking a Sr. Product Manager that will drive business initiatives across current and future versions of Windows. This involves deep understanding of the Windows business drivers, ecosystem, and customers; in-depth analysis of business trends; financial analysis and modeling; authoring of comprehensive business strategies and go to market plans; driving decisions with senior executives; and monitoring and driving progress on new business initiatives. The initiatives this person will take on are large and complex opportunities and challenges facing the Windows business. It will require an autonomous, multifaceted person that can wear multiple hats (project management, financial analysis, business development, strategic planning, etc.) and partner effectively across disciplines (field organizations, product planning, development teams, marketing, finance, etc.). This is a highly impactful role for someone that wants to be part of shaping the future of Windows and evolve the business strategy of one of the most successful businesses ever created.
Responsibilities include: Lead cross-organizational virtual teams and come up with comprehensive business strategies and go to market plans that address new business opportunities and challenges arising from changes in market dynamics or the competitive landscape Combine elements of competitive strategy, business opportunity analysis, and product management into integrated cross-organizational business plans Track core business performance metrics and macro-trends for the Windows consumer business and drive changes in business models, licensing terms, and go to market plans that help maximize the short-and long-term business opportunity Drive new business models from idea to incubation to broad roll-out in close partnership with product planning and marketing for current and future versions of Windows Create fact based partner positioning of operating systems offerings and business & go to market programs Develop subject matter expertise on business models, go to market strategies and potential market disruptions across Windows and the competitive landscape and use insights to influence senior business leaders Drive the regular business planning process for the Windows consumer product management organization as well as regular executive business and strategy reviews Travel Required: Requires the ability to travel 10-20% of the time. Some international travel may be required.
