The Senior Solutions Program Manager will be responsible for managing, defining and coordinating the delivery of complete product programs across relevant HDS functional groups for key Microsoft applications and related technologies. The program manager will be the vital link between Business Development, Alliances, Sales, and the Solution Strategy and Engineering, and is responsible for driving and assuring all necessary components for program rollouts are complete. The program manager will provide 'thought leadership' on the best ways to develop, test and validate Microsoft based solutions that can add value to our field and top partners.

The Senior Solutions Program Manager position will also be responsible for the successful management of a solution portfolio and will manage each solution throughout its life cycle - from development of the initial requirements and prioritizations through end-of-life solution decisions. This entails owning and contributing to designs, managing the functional specification, guarding the architectural integrity and managing critical trade-offs of each solution. As the custodian of the functional specification, the program manager leads a cross-functional team to achieve agreement about the concept, design, delivery and support of the solution and justifies the agreed approach to management. At all stages of the process, from beginning thru final shipment the program manager will be responsible for the delivery of the full suite of enablement tools needed to support the successful programs to the field and partners.

This person will also actively engage and solicit information from customers and HDS and Microsoft senior management teams to validate the value of the solutions being developed. The immediate focus are of the program manager is to engage, execute and validate the imminent Exchange 2010 program. Once reviewed and validated to ensure success, the program manager will lead efforts for Sharepoint 2010, and potentially other Microsoft applications like SQL Server 2008 R2 in the future.

Job Functions:

Communicating with customers to understand and document the business objectives of key programs
Communicating with key stakeholders, to understand the needs they have for product roll-outs to the field and providing recommendations
Assisting in the development of white papers and other joint/co-branded initiatives with Microsoft
Reviewing technical designs and verifying the value of HDS storage solutions with the identified programs
Documenting and communicating the key elements of the programs to the field
Making presentations-answering questions and instilling confidence across the HDS and Microsoft value-chains
Within assigned focus area, be a subject matter expert with the ability to understand latest architecture, technology, solutions, and market trends, as well as competitive offerings
Build and own solution strategy and roadmaps with prioritizations and corresponding business justifications that will contribute to solution programs
Work with internal constituents and external parties to decompose business opportunities into constituent solutions, outline value and ROI, and identify risks and constraints
Deliver Solutions Requirement Document(s) that translate business requirements into development blueprints for solutions engineering and integration development
Works with key value-chain stakeholder to prepare solutions and their related programs for launch
Monitor and report on solution portfolio and program success
Use and advocate the use of solution development frameworks, methodologies and procedures to support solution programs

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate has 7-12 years in the IT segment, with at least 7 years of solution development and/or delivery experience.
Must have proven success in developing and delivering solutions
Must have a strong understanding of the technology focus area specific to the role
Must have experience in storage, services, software, solutions - ideally experience with HDS, EMC, NetApp or HP offerings
Business Planning and Financial Analysis capabilities
Proven ability in documenting requirements
Excellent presentation & and communication (speaking/writing) skills: Ability to translate and clearly formulate technical and market issues
Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to lead and influence teams
Good Project Management skills
A four-year university degree or equivalent is required. An advanced degree in business/marketing highly desired.
Strong analytic and critical thinking skills
Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication abilities
Expertise with key Microsoft tools and products
