Our Global Headquarters is looking to add an experienced Senior Product Manager focused on Developer Solutions to our Mobile Systems Marketing Team. This position can be based in either of Intermec’s Everett, WA or Cedar Rapids, IA locations.

The Senior Product Manager, Developer Solutions position focuses on the unique needs of software developers and is responsible for product management activities for key Intermec developer tools, as well as programs that serve and grow the community of developers that create software for use with Intermec equipment.

Here are the principle responsibilities, duties and tasks of the job:
- Responsible for product management, planning and marketing of the developer experience for Intermec mobile computers.
- Develop roadmap, requirements, competitive benchmarks for Intermec developer resource kits, then work with R&D to prioritize and drive development activities. Resource kits supplement standard development tools and enable developers to take full control of the value-added features built into Intermec computers such as advanced imaging, communications, and peripherals such as RFID readers and portable printers.
- Lead the planning and execution of programs and resources to grow, support, and educate the Intermec developer community. This includes:
- Events such as Intermec’s annual Developer Conference (DevCon). This year regional DevCon events were held in St. Louis, MO, USA; Rome, Italy; and Sydney, Australia to reach Intermec’s global developer community. Your responsibilities will include working with Intermec technical experts to set the topics and agenda for the conference and coordinating with Intermec’s marketing staff on conference logistics.
- Intermec Developer Center, Intermec’s web site for developers. Your responsibilities will include management of the resources available on this site for those developing software for use with mobile computers.
- Work closely with Intermec’s support team to enhance support programs for developers.
- Research and understand trends affecting mobility development techniques, development environments and tools such as .NET, Java, RAD Tools and emerging tools and environments. Then update and educate other team members on the state of the market for developers.
- Support the introduction of new Intermec mobile computers and peripherals by supplementing product introduction materials with information that encourages developer adoption of the new products.

A successful person in this position is someone who:
• Has a minimum of eight years experience in a technical or marketing area such as product management, software design/development, and at least three years experience in the Mobile and/or Wireless Industries.
• Has software development experience and can interact with developers
• Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Is comfortable presenting technical information to technical audiences
• Can translate technical features into benefits that can be understood by non-technical audiences
• Gets things done and dependably delivers high-quality results
• Can quickly develop a plan, align necessary resources and execute in a well-organized fashion with attention to the very last detail
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Computer Science required.

Here are some additional skills/experience that would be ideal for this role:
• Mobile computer market experience
• Ability to communicate and relate highly technical products to IT level personnel and be able to translate their needs into technical product definitions
• Familiarity with latest software development methodologies and technologies including web services
• Familiarity with remote communications methodologies include dial-up, WiFi hot spot, and WWAN
• Understanding of IT and mobile technology markets and trends
• Ability to manage complex and multi-departmental projects.
• Sound working knowledge of aspects of product management is required, along with analytical, organizational and problem solving abilities.
