Overview:

Amazon’s Gifting team is looking for a seasoned, Senior Product Manager to manage and grow its Baby Registry business.  Amazon’s Baby Registry helps our customers become successful parents, and ensures that they have the best and safest products to raise their child with. Our baby registry offers convenience for  registry owners as well as the visitors who use them to find and buy gifts. Amazon’s baby registry business is successful today, but is positioned for significant growth in the years ahead. We need a senior product manager who relishes the idea of taking ownership of this business and unleashing this growth.

 

This role calls for an individual who can own all aspects of this business and determine, then drive, any initiatives necessary to grow it, whether on Amazon.com or in concert with other online or offline partners. He/she must have the technical depth necessary to build trust with development teams, and the business depth to interface with Amazon executives and build successful relationships with partners.

 

Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Research and identify opportunities for Amazon to further distinguish our Baby Registry offering.
  • Define a long-term product roadmap, including technical, business development and marketing initiatives.
  • Develop new strategic partnerships ad drive day-to-day partner relationships.
  • Conduct business and financial analysis, including forecasting, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Define requirements, and drive customer experience projects and work with all relevant cross-functional areas and our technology teams to guarantee smooth, efficient implementation.
  • Manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences
  • Work cross-functionally with designers, software development engineers, salespeople, product managers, and other internal partners.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Experience managing consumer-facing website features
  • Experience working closely with software development teams and UI designers
  • A strong background (5+ years) in online product management and/or marketing is required; online advertising industry experience and previous sales/business development experience are highly desired.
  • A bachelor's degree is required. An MBA is desirable.
  • Possess exceptional customer experience judgment and be incredibly analytical and creative.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit with strong program and product management skills.
  • Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope technical requirements and prioritize.
  • Sound business judgment, proven ability to influence others, and strong analytical thinking skills are critical to success in this position.
