SQL Server is the fastest growing database in the industry. Join the SQL Server Product Management team and help drive the business, product and marketing strategy for SQL Server.
Key responsibilities include:
Drive strategic leadership and continue to drive the mission-critical perception of SQL Server in the database industry based on knowledge of industry trends, market opportunity, competitive landscape, customer needs and business analysis
Serve as a leader and public representative for SQL Server with customers, press and analysts; effectively present to top-level internal executives and customer as a key spokesperson for SQL Server
Partner closely with engineering and marketing teams on building, validating, and prioritizing value propositions and scenarios for future product releases while making feature, schedule and trade-off decisions
Drive integrated marketing for SQL Server Enterprise and SQL Server Datacenter across a broad range of marketing vehicles including PR/AR, field/customer readiness and web
Create core technical and business content for segments and audiences and drive our strategy for mission-critical proof points including evidence and benchmarks
Represent SQL Server in cross-organizational efforts to align with related Microsoft products and technologies
Qualifications
We are looking for a highly motivated, results-driven strategic thinker, who has strong business and technical skills. You should have demonstrated expertise in product management including product planning, messaging, evangelism and product marketing. In addition, you should demonstrate:
Solid cross-group collaboration skills and have a history of working with external partners on business and technical issues.
Strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities;
Proven verbal and written communications skills;
True passion for their work and desire to make their projects succeed;
Confidence as a leader of agile organizations that are ready for change based on customer requirements, market conditions and company strategy. Recent experience leading a major product marketing/management function is highly desirable;
Ability to work effectively with and influence executives. Strong executive presence and professional maturity;
Problem solving skills and the ability to work with senior leaders to establish strategies
At least 5-7 years experience in product management, project management and/or program management. The ideal candidate will also have experience with product planning and/or product marketing.
BA/BS required. MBA preferred.
