This Senior Product Manager role is within our Rhapsody America LLC division. Rhapsody’s Product Management team is searching for an experienced product management leader who has a passion for providing the best solutions for users of our digital music products.

Key Responsibilities include: • Lead the full product lifecycle – from requirements definition, to delivery, to end-of-life – collaborating with Creative Services, Program Management, Engineering, QA, Marketing, Programming, Business Intelligence and Customer Support. Continually communicate business priorities and customer imperatives to drive key tradeoffs. • Aid in the development of the overall product strategy for Rhapsody – informed by customer and market insights, competitive pressures and internal initiatives/assets – and uses it to align and energize key stakeholders and team members responsible for the product lifecycle. • Manage Rhapsody profit-and-loss (P&L) with rest of product management team, establishing milestones, tracking progress and evaluating opportunities to increase revenues and decrease costs. • Define a detailed product roadmap based on the product strategy and drive product releases to deliver on that roadmap; adjust the roadmap as necessary, based on key metrics and market conditions. • Establish business metrics and key market research questions and work with Business Intelligence and market research resources to gather customer insights and inform product development. • Monitor key competitors and their anticipated next moves. Create in-depth teardowns of all competitive products. Keep an eye on new technology developments for future product ideas and trends. • Capture and articulate product requirements in concise MRDs and PRDs. • Emphasize primacy on user experience. Continually improve user experience to better drive the business and/or key metrics.
Position Requirements and Key Attributes: • B.A./B.S. degree, 8+ years of product management/marketing experience; M.B.A. a plus. • 3+ years of recent experience as a product manager of digital media products, particularly digital music. • 3+ years of experience as a product manager of a paid subscription service. • Strong product acumen with a balance of strategy and attention to detail across team deliverables, user experience and organizational engagement. • Strong customer focus, with a track record of using customer insights to shape product strategy and drive detailed tradeoffs over the product lifecycle. • Adept at analyzing competitive and adjacent products and using those insights to improve the product and anticipate competitive threats before they happen. • Ability to prioritize competing opportunities, balance market needs with business priorities, manage conflict and articulate the rationale behind decisions. • Successful at leading complex projects across a matrixed organization and demonstrated ability as a thought leader for key issues in that environment. |
