Description: Our client is the nation's largest provider of data, voice, wireless, and wireline services to both the consumer and business market. They are currently looking for a strong Product Manager. Responsibilities:
  • Lead Product Manager responsible for development and implementation of key music initiatives as defined by company marketing teams
  • Ownership of the service: manage with the best interest of the business in mind
  • Ownership of the service: take control and lead multiple teams to restore outages and service disruptions, plus working some nights and weekends (although minimal) when necessary
  • Drive projects through internal gating process for project technical and business approvals
  • Daily collaboration with all core team members including marketing, technology, network, IT, engineering, and care among others
  • Troubleshoot often complex issues and find creative and innovative solutions to problems and tracking through to resolution
  • Write test cases and provide regular direction and feedback to test leads
  • Report and defend weekly (and some times daily) status to executive management
  • Write and present Product requirement documents, use cases, wire-frames, operational requirements, business cases, and Product descriptions for new compelling applications and services
  • Manage the Product lifecycle requirements for these Products
Requirements: Specific Qualifications (items are required unless noted otherwise):
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in software product management
  • Demonstrated experience managing software development projects (preferably mobile consumer or web based)
  • Demonstrated experience in writing technical and functional requirements which clearly articulate the business need
  • Prior experience managing application technology vendors
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with wireless and/or wireless data networks and/or services
  • Strong familiarity with mobile phone OS (Windows Media, Symbian, RIM, Palm, etc.)
  • Experience developing in or managing J2ME and native Windows Mobile applications
  • Experience managing large projects with an end to end view which is consistently maintained and used as an effective tool for clarifying dependencies and assisting with driving the decision making process
  • Experience managing hot item issues and confidently developing and delivering solutions to address them
  • Experienced in producing status reports and presentations, including for senior level audiences, which clearly articulate relevant issues and help guide the decision making process
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple cross-functional teams and build relationships with internal and external team members to ensure long term project success
  • Knows when to take initiative to help solve a problem and/or to help complete an objective without having to be asked to do so first
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills; ability to manage multiple projects at any one time
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Strong familiarity with Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Experience presenting to senior level executives; displays confidence
