Mobile eCommerce is one of the fastest growing segments and Amazon is well positioned to take its world class customer experience and deliver it on mobile devices. The Amazon Mobile team is leading this initiative and will be building new and innovative ways for customers to interact with Amazon via their mobile device. As a Product Manager, you will shape the success for Amazon.com’s wireless initiatives worldwide. Your responsibilities will include innovating and prioritizing new wireless services and experiences, defining customer experiences, building product roadmaps, collecting requirements, writing functional specs, scheduling, and managing key software projects. You will be working side by side with a talented team of software developers and designers with the goal of providing unique and innovate ways for customers to interact with Amazon using their mobile phone. The right person will be highly analytical, have strong communication skills, be detail-oriented yet able to look at a wide array of choices and identify what truly matters, and to be calm in the face of fast-moving and hectic environments. You will also have to be wickedly creative and skilled at moving products from whiteboard to reality without losing their “magic”.
Required Experience
- 7+ years of consumer focused product management experience
- Ability to work independently
- Outstanding organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability in building and launching outstanding customer experiences
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities and make things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strong bias for action.
- Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into business and product requirements.
- Proven ability to make smart trade-offs on time-to-market versus features and to respond to dynamic markets
- Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs and opportunistic new ideas with technical employees.
