Senior Product Manager - Service Innovation
As part of the Product Service Innovation Team you will work with talent from across Marketing; Research and Development; Design and Usability; Product Development; Technology; Corporate Strategy, and outside partners to develop and drive a set of our INNOVATION SERVICES. You will have an opportunity to evolve our long-term product vision and ensure that our innovation efforts yield a defendable and profitable position in the market place. Your responsibilities will span the product life cycle, including identifying customer needs and industry trends, specifying product requirements as well as defining and measuring key business performance indicators. You will also contribute to defining the business strategy and be deeply involved in T-Mobile’s development and launch of next generation services and products.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Engineering and IT groups on rigorous analyses of customer needs, definition, and evangelism of customer/partner/market requirements with a focus on the business and customers
2. Understand and continuously study the marketplace to discover long-term trends that may become relevant to our future - Provide analyses, identification and strategy regarding new product and service integration in close coordination with other Product Development groups
3. Partner with Research and Development to define and crystallize opportunities for new, forward looking and ground-breaking product initiatives and discoveries
4. Partner with In-line Design team, and Usability team to guide development of storyboards, prototypes, sketches of appropriate fidelity to test and prove value proposition solutions, and evaluate viability, fit, and desirability of concepts.
5. Lead an effective, collaborative cross-functional team in development and execution of the for product line strategy for innovative services
6. Guide the team in the go-to-market process: explain the concept, aid in deciding development trade-offs, negotiate timelines and engage in developing strategy for field support after product launch.
7. Author and maintain customer requirements documentation for product releases and development cycles
8. Partner with Marketing to develop and manage business cases including financial modeling to provide strategic management to drive marketing and revenue targets
Qualifications:
§ Strong bias towards creative thinking and relentless discovery – curiosity is a plus
§ Show ability to achieve objectives and deliver results on multiple projects – multi-tasking required
§ Demonstrate strategic thinking and analysis – able to think big, but act tactically and quickly
§ Previous track record of leading cross-functional teams required – builds trust and creates open discussion
§ Demonstrated success in using customer-focused research to drive product innovation and satisfaction
§ Ability to communicate ideas in various forms including written narrative, visual presentation, wireframe, sketch
§ Experience presenting and articulating ideas, and solutions options in small and large group setting, to both peer and senior executive audiences
Education:
§ 3+ years of experience in consumer based Product Management, Marketing, Development, or Planning in a technology based company required
§ 3+ years of experience in consumer electronics and/or software industry required
§ MBA or advanced degree in product design preferred, bachelors degree required
Environmental/Physical Demands
- Need to be able to travel as needed (within the US, Europe and Asia)
