The Windows Server Marketing team is seeking a Senior Product Planner who will be responsible for driving the product strategy for medium business solutions. This is a leadership role that will focus on identifying the business opportunities, trends and new business models to serve our customers and deliver a holistic solution of server software and related services. You will be required to build a deep understanding of customer and partner needs and collaborate across diverse engineering and marketing teams to identify the right strategies to delight our customers and grow our business. You will also present those strategies and your product value propositions to our executive leadership.

Responsibilities include:
• Develop deep customer insight to understand the problems we can solve with our server and services portfolio
• Develop relationships with key partners and build a strategy for delivering joint solutions
• Develop a thorough understanding of the technology and competitive landscape
• Conduct market opportunity analysis to prioritize and validate investment strategies
• Develop multiyear product strategies to increase our unit and revenue share
• Develop clear product value propositions that align to the strategy and work with engineering throughout the development lifecycle to ensure that we deliver solutions that are successful in market
• Lead pricing, licensing and branding decisions and support the outbound marketing organization in channel decisions

Qualifications:
We are looking for a strong product manager/planner with a passion for technology in the server market. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in marketing or program management with a focus on opportunity analysis, customer research and competitive analysis. The successful candidate will be effective in presenting to executives, have demonstrated experience in managing multiple, complex projects and will have very strong analytical skills. Strong cross-group collaboration skills are required as you will work across multiple teams both within the division and across Microsoft. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required as is an ability to explain complex issues to a variety of audiences. BS or equivalent technical experience desired. MS or MBA with a technical background is preferred.
