Do you have a passion for product management, and have strong strategic marketing and business skills? This position is within the Genuine Windows team that is part of the Windows Client, which is responsible for making piracy harder while providing differentiated experience for genuine customers. Genuine software team is responsible for planning and marketing collection of capabilities delivered in Windows relating to software licensing and software IP protection solution (i.e. anti-piracy).

As the senior product manager, you will drive the product planning and product management efforts relating to genuine with a focus to enterprise and public sector customers, including the strategy formulation, market analysis, opportunity identification, development of value proposition and product planning. You will partner with rest of Windows Client team, product development team, WW licensing and pricing, WW anti-piracy, Law and Corporate affairs, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), System Builders (SBC), Resellers, Operations IT, and the subsidiaries.

In this role you will be expected to:
Drive customers’ ability to proactively identify and manage non license compliance scenarios through use of genuine platform technologies
Author next set of genuine capabilities and features with engineering and other stakeholders that help minimize mis-licensing, mis-versioning and direct piracy
Gain acceptance for the next generation of genuine technologies with government and enterprise customers through IP council, DAC, TAP and other appropriate customer/partner activities
Represent Microsoft and its strategies relating to Software Protection at large customer and partner events such as TechEd, WPC
Evangelize the use of genuine in enterprise through active and vibrant engagements with IT Pro and deployment communities


Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellent analytical, listening, problem resolution, communication, and cross-group collaboration skills. Success in this position will require intellectual leadership, comfort dealing with ambiguity, good collaborative, teaming and consensus-building abilities. You should also have familiarity with software development practices and be able to understand technical concepts. Exposure to software licensing, software asset management, enterprise IT management is valuable. Strong leadership, communication, presentation & negotiation skills are a must. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in product management, product marketing, consulting or other customer facing roles. Understanding of the Windows business and piracy landscape is a plus. BA/BS is required. MBA is preferred.
