GoToTraining Product Marketing ManagerObjective of Position
The Product Marketing Manager is the responsible for developing and directing the go to market strategy for Citrix Online*s newest product launched, GoToTraining. This includes knowledge and expertise of the online and/or offline training environment; conducting comprehensive market research; developing market growth strategies; conducting product launch planning; determining product pricing, packaging and positioning; and supporting the creation of sales team enablement including sales tool creation and communication. The Product Marketing Manager serves as chief internal and external evangelizer for the product and its impact on customers. This position is strategic and tactical, and requires close interaction internally * with field marketing, sales management, product management, strategic communications, account management, customer care and others *and externally, with customers, press, analysts, and other industry influencers.
Principal Responsibilities
* Serves as internal and external product expert and market intelligence leader in the current marketplace as well as complementary industries
* Conducts comprehensive ongoing market research and determines market requirements for product line
* Determines product growth strategies and drives product growth to reach revenue and market share targets; adjusts strategies accordingly in response to market changes
* Leads development of comprehensive marketing plans for launching, developing, and extending new features for multiple versions of a product line
* Partners with Product Management to drive new release planning, including market requirements, business objectives, key success metrics and marketing initiatives
* Defines, directs and conducts market validation to gain information on buyer personas, messaging, product positioning and promotions
* Defines product positioning and messaging to external customers, and facilitates development and deployment across multiple internal groups
* Leads and develops pricing/packaging for product line and modifies accordingly based upon market requirements and the requirements of the business
* Evangelizes product through to Sales and other internal groups, including Executive Management, and guides sales strategy to improve overall product economics
* Interfaces proactively with customers and prospects to gather market information; presents findings and recommendations to Senior Staff and speaks externally about experiences
* Works with sales training and sales management teams on value propositions and objection handling for product; helps develop new strategies for improvement across sales group
* Supports a variety of marketing campaigns and promotions (seminars, customer briefings, trade shows, events, other company sponsored events, etc.)
* Creates and delivers competitive analysis, customer win stories, case studies, and profiles for sales consumption and use; guides and builds the business case for product changes in anticipation of opportunities or threats
* Leads cross-functional team with ultimate goal of increasing product-line revenue; measures and reports on entire product-brand progress
Other Duties
* Analyst Relations: Works with key industry analysts (eg. Gartner, IDC, Forrester) to put forth a positive message regarding the product.
* Project Management: Complete many projects involving coordination among a diverse environment; manages and maintains internal groups
* Product Line Management: Work closely with product management to divide and conquer nearly all duties involved with development and delivery along the full product lifecycle.
Knowledge and Skills
* 8+ years product marketing experience
* Traditional brand management experience with P/L responsibility a plus
* Bachelor*s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics or Engineering; MBA preferred
* Experience in the online and/or offline Training industry
* Cross functional leadership and team-building skills to create shared visions and accomplish team goals
* Demonstrated ability to think strategically and influence product/messaging direction
* Experience creating and executing detailed GoTo market plans that drive sales and revenue
* Strong skills in developing and delivering outbound product messages
* Exceptional written and verbal skills and proven ability to create marketing collateral and present to customers, press and analysts
* Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and independence; demonstrated ability to lead early stage strategic marketing initiatives
* Distinctive problem-solving and analysis skills, combined with seasoned business judgment and ability to communicate with highly technical management team
* Passion for customers and track record of success analyzing product and market dynamics
* Demonstrated ability to be both strategic and hands-on
* On Demand/SaaS Applications experience desired
