JOB SUMMARY:
• Manage all aspects of Data Capture handheld scanner product marketing for the company • Develop and implement a product strategy and roadmap for handheld scanners and 3rd party alliances. Goals: • Bring to market unique, professional, imaging solutions based on hardware & software innovations • Support overall mission to provide strong differentiation & sustained competitive advantages • Leverage development spend and our lead in 2D technology to grow revenue and GM of HHS range • Build channel presence via product, pricing, promotion and other channel programs • Understand product gaps and market requirements through market analysis, and design complete solutions to fill those needs. Then work with engineering, ODM and 3rd party OEM’s to translate need into a product specification. • This role also manages the design, implementation, launch and training of key personnel to meet or exceed customer expectations in a market or industry. • Support Intermec handheld scanner business objectives through 2-tiers distribution by implementing specific channel activities and promotions, in coordination with Intermec MarCom, field marketing & sales teams. • Meet the agreed targets, financial, product and market, according to approved DC strategic plans

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & TASKS (list in order from most important): • Drives Product Line Strategy, making recommendations to start a project, and move product through development, production and market success. Proactively drive prioritization and trade-off decisions with Industry and Alliances. Works with Engineering to ensure availability of SDUs and BDUs according to global requirements and with Operations to distribute globally • Manage entire Product Life Cycle of Intermec’s product families from cradle-to-grave, including achievement of planned revenue, units and standard margin, product strategy and business case, Quantitative analysis of both market and product family/business model. Ensure roadmaps tie back to solution sets, and defined positioning. • Define positioning, Product launch to End-of-Life and support sales processes as needed. • Works closely with the MarCom & Field Marketing teams to ensure that handheld scanners are promoted through the partner community and end users and that channels are incentivized. • Works with Channel Group to ensure a channel plan is in place, and target channel partners have been identified and engaged • Utilizes output from Industry, Alliance and International Marketing in terms of product capability requirements as part of a solution set to create a specific Market Requirement Document (MRD). • Identify, develop and manage 3rd party partner relationships to offer products that compliment or supplement our product offering. • Conducts competitive analysis at the product model level, defines Intermec value proposition, IP leadership and positioning advantage. • Drives product line price strategy within product families, including setting global pricing and price guide implementation. • Defines and manages migration strategy of older products when bringing in new products. • Compare pricing for key configurations against competitive equivalent products – highlight key differences to management by way of recommending decreases or increases in price levels for more competitive effectiveness • Acts as focal point for product launch, including directing field marketing, operations, training, alliance and partner planning, and analyst relations. • Delivers value proposition and messaging for leverage to the end user and within channel • Must follow all state, local, and federal laws and regulations, as well as embrace Intermec core values and initiatives. • Must remain aware of regulatory responsibilities and remain current in technical areas, including Sarbanes-Oxley
QUALIFICATIONS: The minimum qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform this job successfully. Depending on the job level, equivalent job-related experience may be substituted for an educational degree. . Education: • Engineering, BA in Marketing, or Business. MBA preferred. A technical background will be a positive for this position
Experience: • Minimum 10 years of experience in a product marketing area, may be mixed with experience in channel sales &marketing, , product technical service, marketing communications, or an engineering discipline. • Experience in working with international teams located in different time zones • Experience in the Data Capture or ADC industry is highly desired.
Skills: • Knowledge of DC, and ability to provide related guidance to engineers, sales and partners through analysis. • Product manager experience for hardware products and ability to work on technical concepts is preferred. • Sound working knowledge of all aspects of product management is required, including analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills. • Ability to lead through influence. Ability to manage multiple complex, cross-functional projects. • Ability to present clear written and verbal concepts to customers, peers and executives. • Fluency in English required (French is a plus) |
