There is an immediate opening within the Finance Solution Delivery Group for a senior leader to drive the systems strategy for the Royalties Accounting. Currently Microsoft calculates royalties for all of its major businesses including Windows, Office, Xbox, Zune, Server & Tools, and MSN. The group currently processes over 500M in annual payments and is growing quickly to meet the needs of Microsoft’s newest businesses and revenue models. The diversity of businesses served requires the creation and operation of a variety of royalty systems which directly impact business performance and partner experience.
To fill this position, the Finance Solution Delivery Group is looking for a seasoned leader to take on a substantial new challenge. You will work with various project stakeholders across Microsoft, including: different business groups, Royalties Accounting team, Microsoft IT, and various Microsoft partners to drive the Royalties system strategy, vision, requirements, and to ensure successful delivery and implementation of system and process improvements with measureable results.
The ideal candidate must have deep experience driving features and business requirements and excel at understanding accounting and royalties requirements. Candidates must be able to manage multiple, complex projects concurrently, make decisions independently, and have excellent organization skills. This person must be self-motivated, directed, and possess superior project planning, analysis, organization, communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and negotiation skills. You must be able to meet ongoing and overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple assignments simultaneously and have the ability to coordinate deliverables and dependencies with other groups.
As the Lead Solution Manager your key responsibilities will include: Overall business capability roadmap of the Royalty Accounting/Operations business Work with business and Royalty team stakeholders to develop and prioritize requirements Develop and manage project plans to ensure timely delivery within budget Proactively seek customer and partner feedback on process improvements Provide excellent customer support, communication and training Evangelize the solution and benefits to key stakeholders and decision makers Utilize your deep Finance and business application background to identify and drive world class process improvements Develop and maintain relationships with key business and IT stakeholders and partners to ensure delivery of the Royalty system
Qualifications: A minimum of 8 years experience in IT, solution management, business consulting, project management or product management in a technical environment. Financial Systems, and Royalties Systems and Accounting experience as a Senior Product Manager in a technical environment. The candidate must possess a strong understanding of business process excellence, have worked in high-profile situations, and be comfortable working with a wide spectrum of customers/partners globally. Work experience in Royalty IT and accounting systems, ERP, MBA, Six Sigma, SDLC is preferred.
A minimum of a BA/BS Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or related business discipline is required. An MBA is preferred. Strong level of proficiency in Microsoft applications, including MS Office, SharePoint, and Project is required.
