Want to play a key role in the next generation of Windows gaming? The Microsoft Games Studio Global Product Marketing team is looking for a seasoned marketer with a passion for online and social gaming.

In this position, you’ll be leading the global marketing strategies behind a broad portfolio of games. You’ll utilize your solid consumer marketing experience to drive global marketing thinking around this exciting set of titles and experiences. Develop marketing strategies for new franchises that target consumers on the Windows platform. Partner across multiple marketing communications teams to ensure world class delivery of programs. Forecast the sales potential of prospective titles and help guide portfolio decisions. Create consumer product positioning based on in-depth understanding of the target consumer and competitive set. Develop key messages to internal and external customers and all related communications plans. Manage product launches including distribution strategies, product pricing, online marketing plan, and lifecycle management including price reductions. Work with development teams to hone product design and feature prioritization and create a unified development and marketing vision for the products, with a thorough incorporation of target consumer segment understanding.

Responsibilities include:
• Creating global franchise marketing plans (market & competitive analysis, customer understanding, positioning/messaging/branding, PR planning, and marketing strategies) that drive awareness & purchase intent worldwide for the game franchise
• Analyzing consumer trends and behavior to advise and assist game studios with portfolio development and planning
• Defining and managing visual identity for global marketing materials (packaging, POP, advertising, web)
• Delivering a world-class go to market plan across multiple marketing disciplines, leading virtual teams as needed
• Developing intimate knowledge of your games and competitive titles and serving as product spokesperson
• Building and nurturing strong relationships with game studios and developers
• Managing marketing aspects of the business plan, including sales forecasting, marketing budget formulation, localization strategy, launch timing, lifecycle planning
• Recommending optimal release dates for titles
Represent Microsoft as appropriate at key industry presentations, panels, and executive briefings.

This position demands a strong mix of great communications and strategy skills, and experience in driving marketing programs and/or campaigns. Digital marketing and/or social gaming experience highly preferred. Successful candidates will have a strong track record of marketing consumer products, preferably in the high tech industry, with a steady progression of increased responsibility and impact. You’ll have demonstrated your ability to define clear goals and develop creative, high-impact marketing strategies to achieve those goals, grounded in a deep understanding of the target customers and of partners in the ecosystem. You’ll have proven your ability to drive results through leadership of virtual teams. You’ll have successfully collaborated with product development teams to create effective consumer value propositions. You’ll bring an understanding of Windows market and trends, with experience in online PC gaming.

Additional qualifications include excellent presentation and public speaking skills; strong personal drive; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational and project management skills; and ability to work well under deadlines. A minimum of 3 years product marketing experience is required.

This position will require travel, both domestic and international.
