Redfin started with the best real estate site. We hired and partnered with the best real estate agents. Now we need a talented product/program manager to continue our mission: bringing the best home-buying and selling guidance to the world.
You'll own Redfin's data analysis and home pricing guidance. You'll take our mountains of data and wrangle it for our customers, giving them Redfin's unique full-access view of what's happening to housing trends and prices right in their neighborhood. You'll also drive bringing Redfin to new cities and help negotiate strange local real estate customs.
As product manager, your responsibilities include:
- Understanding business requirements: Talk to customers and agents. Study competitors. Analyze usage patterns and improve Redfin's game.
- Leading the charge: Work with execs & marketing to drive the future of Redfin.
- Communicating ideas: Create wireframes & specs. Generate new features. Hammer out agreements. Build the sweetness.
- Designing product areas: Write specs. Collaborate with designers. Turn product ideas into tasty works of art.
- Shipping killer software: Partner with engineering to ensure Redfin products are built to spec. Make tough calls to maximize quality for the customer.
To succeed, you need to be:
- A creative customer advocate: You love creating addictive user experiences for customers, and you know how to get in their head.
- Entrepreneurial: You're fast, creative, and street smart. You start on your own and you finish strong.
- Market-savvy: You're hip to the intertubes. You know what's cool, what's powerful, and what's coming next.
- A simplicity sensei: You take the complex and make it Zen. Unless they want complex. Then you know how give them all the data they could have dreamed of wanting.
- Process-oriented: You know the soup-to-nuts of product management, and your attention to detail is absolute.
- An internal evangelist: You hunger to know what others need, and you don't stop until you've exceeded expectations.
Before you apply, make sure you've got:
- Experience: A minimum of one year bringing successful consumer websites or applications to market.
- At least a four-year degree: Preferably in economics, math, statistics, computer science or a related field of study.
- Technical chops: The skill to work closely with engineers designing products that are straightforward to code and test.
Backed by the investors in Facebook and Amazon, Redfin just became profitable, and is doubling revenues every year. Because of our progressive mission, we look for people whose passion is using technology to make the world a better place. We also like scavenger hunts, Settlers of Catan, ski trips, bicycle races and Liberace, so hopefully you know how to have a good time, too.
Redfin has twice made Time Magazine's list of Top 50 websites (in 2007 and 2009). Do you have what it takes to keep us there? To apply, send your resume to Seattle.Engineers@Redfin.com, along with a few ideas on how Redfin could use its data to change the game. Include "Product Manager: Statistics" in the subject line.
