Product Marketing Manager
Portland, OR or Seattle, WA



Bring your leadership of product management to the following role:

  • Champion the external market facing strategy for the individual line of business.
  • Understand the needs and value drivers for the various consumer segments in order to best position and message the products in the portfolio.
  • Work hand in hand with product management peers to manage the product portfolio.
  • Lead go-to-market product launch efforts, jointly determine necessary adjustments to product portfolio including product enhancements and/or retirement and drive all the communication initiatives to members, agents and employees.
  • Lead overall channel strategy and product initiatives with agent and direct channels.
  • Partner with sales and marketing counterparts to drive membership acquisition and retention necessary to achieve enrollment goals.
  • Perform LOB enrollment and key metrics analysis.
  • As necessary, lead enrollment recovery strategy and execution with a focus on meeting and exceeding enrollment commitment to the company.

Qualifications:

Combine your degree and product marketing experience with the following skills and abilities:

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Management Communications or relevant field plus 7-9 years experience in a marketing, marketing communications, or a management position in healthcare, managed care, CPG brand management or advertising fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of health insurance products, programs and delivery channels, marketing and sales processes, industry terminology, rating methodologies, financing mechanism, operational flow and data requirements
  • Comprehensive knowledge of marketing, product development, brand strategy and communication/promotion strategies, with an emphasis toward product positioning strategies
  • Create and support innovative market introduction, awareness and adoption strategies and tactics
  • Highly proficient in traditional and non-traditional media and marketing communication strategies, tactics, vehicles
  • Strong project management and matrix management oversight skills with the ability to create loyalty and generate strong partnerships among diverse, geographically-separated individuals, work groups and teams for the purpose of achieving assigned objectives-including quarterly and annual goals, timelines, key implementation milestones and creative deliverables
  • Solid analytical skills - forecasting, results analysis, ROI measurement
  • Effective communicator with demonstrable excellence in written and verbal communication with the ability to synthesize information received verbally or in written form
  • Ability to write executive level documents and summaries and make executive level presentations to internal/external stakeholders with varying accountabilities and interests
  • Innovation tied to execution and understanding of the operational implications of launching products, including the scope and depth of impacted business processes as well as the political and public impacts (both internal and external) associated with multi-market product launches and campaign management interdependencies and impacts
  • Business aptitudes, including an understanding of the organizational aspects of providing and financing health care
  • Annually develop, train, certify, coach and functionally manage licensed sales staff on market-segment specific products
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to "think outside the box" and capability to move abstract concepts to concrete actions and effective strategies
  • Strong team player, ability to work within and lead matrix teams
