Mobile Application Product Manager
Long-term Contract to Manage Two Company-wide Programs Involving Cutting Edge Mobile Technology!
A well known company within the mobile telecommunications industry has a need for a Senior New Technology/Product Development Engineer to work within the organization as a member of the Data Product and Technology Realization Team and lead the product management of Good Mobile Messaging, Microsoft Direct Push and System Center Mobile Device Manager services. This position will also be responsible for supporting another company wide program. In this role, you will focus on lifecycle management and new product development for these services. Roll out and support the transition plan. You will lead multiple new product development requirements through product development process from conception to launch and provide on-going support throughout product lifecycle. Manage the lifecycle components of these services. Manage devices through the application certification process. Manage the vendor to deliver clients on time and with the quality required. Manage the lifecycle budget associated with these projects. Manage the releases through internal processes as necessary. Manage the transition plan. Work closely with all impacted organizations to roll out the plan. Manage and lead multiple new device and application features through product development process from conception to launch and provide on-going support throughout product lifecycle.
Required Experience
- 3 to 5 years of wireless product development/product management (not marketing) experience, project management and organizational skills
- Familiarity with the wireless email/messaging industry, wireless communications, and wireless applications and services
- Proven large scale product management skills - including product requirements, project planning, project management, financial acumen, long-term tactical roadmap and release management and planning
- Track record of continual delivery of products on time and on budget
- Must possess a high degree of influence and ability to impact team performance of cross functional groups, subordinates, peers, and senior management - including the ability to gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations
- Previous experience in managing vendors
- Requires 5+ years' related experience, strong written and presentation skills
- B.A. or B.S. degree required, M.B.A. a plus
